NHG have a combined 50 years working in property and finance and have housed thousands of people into permanent housing. We have experience in large and small scaled property developments, and have held board positions in both property construction and mortgage lending institutions. 

Stephen Wasserman

Founder and Chief Executive Officer

Stephen founded NHG at the beginning of 2020. He was previously managing director of a mortgage lending company where he oversaw the management of over £4bn loans. He has navigated two equity sales, employed over 200 people, and has vast experience within the property development market. 

As CEO, Stephen is involved with the everyday running of NHG and his responsibilities include staff development, fundraising and strategic planning. He works closely with the team looking for opportunities to acquire properties. He liaises with housing associations, councils, and charities, and oversees the development and refurbishment of all properties. It’s all hands on deck at NHG, but when he gets the chance to relax on the weekend you will find him watching sports or playing football. He spends time with his children and friends. Stephen enjoys skiing and exploring the world, he even spent a year travelling around in a campervan.

Nicholas Arthur

Director of Partnership

Nicholas joined NHG in June 2021 as director of partnerships. His role includes collaborating with the team and external partners to deliver NHG’s strategic objectives. He will work with external partners that include local authorities, registered providers of social housing and charities.

He has over 20 years of experience in the housing sector managing and leading housing regeneration, community investment, anti-social behaviour, community safety and homelessness. He has extensive knowledge of housing policy, management, asset strategy, homelessness, property policy and law. He has successfully managed and led various projects, delivering strategies and operational processes for housing associations, homeless organisations and local authorities.

On the weekend you can find Nicholas catching up on the latest football scores, reading non-fiction books, cooking and relaxing to Magic Radio.

Jonathan Alexander

Director

Jonathan join NHG in early 2020 when it was founded. Before NHG he started his career in property and combined this experience with leisure and events shortly after. Jonathan was part of a property and events partnership that have converted some of London’s interesting and underused spaces into iconic venues some of which include Old Billingsgate, Old Truman Brewery and Old Vic Tunnels. Jonathan has built a number of homes and property developments and now specialises in construction and planning.

He is a Tottenham football club supporter and enjoys listening to music, and dancing, watching all sports, modern art and travelling, his favourite place is Puglia, Italy. 

Kobi Lehrer

Chief Operating Officer

Kobi joined NHG in July 2020. As part of the management team, his role at NHG involves optimising performance across the business, by providing support, strategic planning and advice. He is responsible for ensuring effective processes and systems and part of the wider strategic decisions for NHG. Kobi previously founded a fintech company that enables fractional equity and debt investment into UK property and he is also a qualified solicitor.

His weekends involve waking up too early, playing princess or pirate games, and occasionally treading on lego. During the winter holidays, you can find Kobi snowboarding down one of the French Alps. 

Tom Athersych

Chief Financial Officer

Tom joined NHG in October 2020 and is responsible for managing the financial actions of the company, tracking cash flow, financial planning, identifying financial strength and weakness, as well as managing external relationships. He is also involved in the strategy side of the business, as well as corporate governance. Tom has a wealth of experience and has held several finance and accounting roles across various industries. Most recently, he was the finance director at an FCA regulated asset manager having spent several years as a financial services auditor at EY. Tom has a young family and a pilot’s license.

On the weekends, you can find him at a soft play, the zoo, or over the skies of the UK.

Katrina Hindley

Head of Marketing

Katrina joined NHG in October 2020. Her role at NHG includes creating, developing, and delivering the marketing strategy across all aspects of the business. Her role is focused around providing customers with the best in class experience. She has previously worked in the marketing departments for an alternative finance company in the UK property market and before that the UK’s largest architectural practice. 

She enjoys hosting and attending dinner parties and when she’s not thinking of the next dish to cook, she is usually on a spin bike.

Jon Benson

Construction Project Manager

Jon joined National Housing Group in the beginning of November 2022 as our construction project manager. He has been working in property management and new build construction for over 20 years having studied and qualified as a gas and electrical engineer then going on to achieve a masters degree in senior construction management, working towards achieving his CIOB.

Jon will be developing National Housing Group’s project execution plan, issuing out information and instructions on behalf of our directors. He will also be monitoring and assessing build programmes, instructing and managing contractors, responsible for site management, contributing to risk and value management exercises, overseeing change control procedures and contributing to design review with engineers and architects.

Outside of the office, Jon enjoys spending quality time with his family at country parks or indoor playgrounds and planning family holidays in the sun near waterparks.

Dylan Hill

Senior Accountant

Dylan joined National Housing Group (NHG) July 2022. At NHG he is responsible for financial reporting, which includes book-keeping, cash flow management, budgeting and statutory reporting.

He has previously worked in an accountancy practice for ten years after joining as an apprentice and working his way up to client manager. 

When he’s not working, he’s playing football, running, in the gym, or spending time with friends and family

Tracey Goldlaing

Personal Assistant

Tracey joined National Housing Group in August 2022 as the personal assistant to CEO, Stephen Wasserman. Within her role at National Housing Group, Tracey will be working closely with Stephen and the rest of the team out of our Borehamwood office, keeping business running smoothly with her expert organisational and support skills.

Previously she has worked as a personal assistant across many industries, including to the director at property, University director, and to the CEO and HR manager at of a popular travel agent.

She loves walking, covering miles at a time, and appreciates culture through being a member of the Tate Modern, as well as enjoying fringe theatre and intimate live musical performances.
